Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the registration mechanism for the Gratis Pol program at Balikpapan University as a form of community service support in realizing the success of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government’s free education initiative. The Gratis Pol program, launched by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, covers various levels of education, from high school to doctoral degree, and is intended for East Kalimantan residents who wish to continue their education. Registration for this program requires only an East Kalimantan ID card (KTP). The Provincial Government has allocated a substantial budget to support its implementation. This study focuses on the implementation of Gratis Pol for higher education at Balikpapan University, highlighting key aspects of its process, accessibility, and contribution to expanding educational opportunities for the local community.
