Peer Review Process

IJCSE (Indonesia Journal for Community Service and Empowerment) uses a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and contribution of every published article. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

1. Initial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team. Editors check:
- conformity with the journal’s focus and scope
- compliance with author guidelines and template
- completeness of manuscript structure
- language quality
- similarity/plagiarism screening

Manuscripts that do not meet minimum requirements may be returned or rejected without external review (desk rejection).

2. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

3. Double-Blind Review
Reviewers evaluate originality, clarity of objectives, method/approach, quality of implementation or analysis, community contribution/impact, discussion, and references.

4. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide:
- Accept submission
- Revisions required (minor revision)
- Resubmit for review (major revision)
- Decline submission

The final decision is made by the editor.

5. Revision Stage
Authors must submit the revised manuscript and a response note explaining the changes. The revision may be re-checked by the editor and, if necessary, returned to reviewers.

6. Copyediting, Proofreading, and Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, proofreading, DOI assignment, and online publication.

Ethical Responsibility
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, provide objective constructive comments, and declare conflicts of interest. Authors must ensure the manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and not under review elsewhere.
