Membongkar Jebakan Data: Pendampingan dan Pembinaan Kebijakan Kominfo dan Literasi Kritis dalam Membentengi Privasi Keuangan Masyarakat

Abstract

Purpose -The rapid digital transformation in Indonesia's financial sector brings serious challenges related to personal data security, where identity leaks and data misuse have become real threats to society. This community service project aims to provide education and guidance regarding government policies related to digital financial literacy, with a primary focus on the protection of personal data identity across various digital financial platforms. This activity is designed to bridge the gap between the complexity of legal regulations and the practical understanding of the community at the grassroots level.

Methodology - The method used in this project is a participatory educational approach through a series of interactive workshops, legal counseling, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The team conducted a regulatory review of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) and its derivative regulations from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This approach allows participants to not only understand the technical aspects of using financial applications but also understand their legal rights as data subjects.

Findings - The findings of this community service activity show that prior to the intervention, the majority of the community had a high level of vulnerability due to a lack of knowledge regarding the classification of specific and general personal data. However, after the intervention, there was a significant increase in public legal awareness in mitigating cybercrime risks. The community began to be able to identify potentially detrimental standard clauses in digital financial platforms and understand complaint procedures according to the applicable regulatory framework.

Originality - The value or originality of this project lies in its deep emphasis on the synchronization of all government regulations created as self-protection instruments. Unlike conventional financial literacy, which only focuses on profitability, this project integrates legal compliance as the primary foundation for digital transactions. The results of this activity confirm that effective personal data protection can only be achieved through synergy between strict regulations and a legally literate community that is meticulous and comprehensive.
