Generative AI Policies

Author Responsibility

Authors remain accountable for the accuracy, originality, integrity, citations, and legal or ethical compliance of their submissions, including material prepared with assistance from generative artificial-intelligence tools.

Disclosure of AI Assistance

Authors should disclose material use of generative AI in manuscript preparation, data analysis, image creation, or other research and writing activities. The disclosure should identify the tool and describe the purpose and extent of its use in the relevant section of the manuscript or accompanying submission documentation.

Authorship and Verification

Generative AI systems must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authors should verify AI-assisted text, data representations, references, and images and ensure that no fabricated references, unattributed material, or misleading content are included.

Confidentiality in Peer Review

Editors and reviewers must respect the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts. They should not upload confidential submissions to external AI systems where confidentiality cannot be assured unless appropriate authorization and safeguards are in place.

Editorial Assessment

Disclosure does not replace scholarly accountability. Suspected misuse or nondisclosure should be evaluated on its merits under the journal's approved editorial-ethics procedures.
