Publication Ethic
International Journal of Economics, Finance and Banking Issues (IJEFBI) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that aims to be a leading platform and authoritative source of scholarly information. We publish original research articles, review articles, and case studies in the fields of economics, finance, banking, and related areas. Submissions must not have been previously published in any language and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The following statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in publishing in this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors should provide an accurate account of the work performed and present an objective discussion of its significance. Data must be presented truthfully without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation. Manuscripts must contain sufficient detail and references to enable replication. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their submissions are entirely original works. Proper citation and acknowledgment are required for previously published works and contributions by others. Any use of others’ words or ideas must be clearly cited, and direct quotations must be indicated with quotation marks. Manuscripts submitted must not be under simultaneous consideration elsewhere unless agreed by the editors.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Redundant or duplicate publication of similar research across multiple outlets is considered unethical. If multiple publications result from the same research project, they must be clearly identified, and the primary publication must be referenced.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Authors must properly acknowledge all data sources and significant influences on their research. Recognition of the work of others is mandatory.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should reflect individuals who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All contributors meeting these criteria must be listed as co-authors. Others who contributed in a minor or technical way should be acknowledged. All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their work. All sources of funding must be declared.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor or publisher and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published, based on peer review and the manuscript’s significance for researchers and readers. Editorial decisions must comply with ethical and legal standards, including libel, copyright, and plagiarism.
Review of Manuscripts
Editors must ensure that all manuscripts are evaluated initially for originality and that peer review is conducted fairly and transparently. Editors should use qualified and unbiased reviewers and provide clear information about the peer review process.
Fair Play
Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs of the authors. Editorial independence and integrity must be upheld.
Confidentiality
Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, or potential reviewers.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for their own research without explicit consent from the authors. Editors should avoid handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Duties of Reviewers
Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not share or discuss the manuscript with others without permission from the editor.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers must verify that all relevant sources are cited appropriately. They should alert editors to any instances of suspected plagiarism, overlap, or ethical misconduct.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively, with constructive criticism to help authors improve their manuscripts. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must not use information gained during the review process for personal advantage. They should decline to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist due to relationships with authors or institutions.
Promptness
Reviewers should complete their evaluations within the agreed timeframe. If unable to meet the deadline, they must notify the editor immediately so the manuscript can be reassigned.
